Absolutely do not want one of these.

There has been a lot of problems with them I see, faulty readings and complications if you want to change supplier means that you end up having to take manual readings anyway.

I take meter readings every 4 weeks, actually the kid does it now, keep it in a little notebook, easy to work out how much we've used in a year.

How people don't keep abreast of what they've used and then moan when they are either massively in arrears or credit is beyond me. Lazyitis.

I work in the industry Russ. What sort of meter is it?

I work with Landis & Gyr, EDMI and Honeywell meters mostly.

Smart meters give the users a much greater insight into their energy usage patterns. As long as your power bill hasn't increased because of it, surely finding out where you're using your power is a good thing?
